~ SWIMSUIT: Victoria's Secret (I'll be doing a post soon on where they're still selling suits!) ~

Buck Island is AMAZING!!! This was our favorite part of our trip to St. Croix and it almost didn't happen. We knew that we wanted to see the island, but the only way to get there is to actually book a tour. Jose researched all of these different ones, but we didn't book it until the day before because we wanted to keep an eye on the weather. With only a few days in Christiansted, we were down to just two days to choose from and one was supposed to be sunny all day and the other had a 90% chance of rain. So we finally go online and book the tour; I was kind of bummed because I wanted to do the sailboat tour, but the power boat one was the only one available. Oh well.
We get up and are heading to breakfast when we stop by the tour's shop to see if there happens to be any last minute cancellations for the sailboat and the lady says we actually can't go. Apparently the sailboat's full and we're the only ones booked for the power boat. She starts talking about how we can go tomorrow (but tomorrow's supposed to rain all day) or just cancel. We're super upset and long story short end up getting to quickly be added onto another company's tour. Jolly Roger Charters totally saved the day and was even a sailboat tour ;) Their guides were truly awesome.
During the tour we spent a good chunk of time snorkeling around the reef. I have a video that I'm working on to show you all, but it was so amazing to see all the different fish. My favorites were the giant schools of blue tangs (dory fish) and this small pod of three squids that we swam into. It was so cool to see how they moved through the water. We also saw a few barracudas in the distance on our way back which Jose thought were pretty cool. It was kind of creepy though how they were totally still in the moving water: kind of like they were guard dogs. Seeing so many colorful fish in that clear of water was almost magical.
Once we got to the beach, Jose wanted to do this hike up to the top of the island. Our guide said that it was an incredible view of the reef, but I was not feeling it. The hike was so humid with the incoming rain and there were cacti everywhere. The view at the top was pretty cool and on our way back down we met an Olympic boxer! I was feeling rough though haha. I finally got to Turtle Beach (ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world) and just wanted to chill in the water when our guide was like "ten minutes left!" Jose and I wish we could have spent more time there but are definitely glad we went. It was by far the best place we saw on our trip!
